Briefly, here's how a B&P Pusher Centrifuge operates:

1.Feed slurry is deposited on a wedge slot filtration screen.

2.Solids collect on the screen and feed liquors drain through.

3.The pusher plate rotates with the basket and reciprocates.

4.On the forward stroke, the plate pushes solids along the screen, consolidating the solids into a uniform cake. On the reverse stroke, fresh screen is exposed where more slurry is deposited.

5.Cake dries as it moves along the length of the screen and wash liquor may be applied to remove impurities.

6.Cake is pushed off the discharge end of the screen and directed to the collection chute for downstream processing.

Pusher Centrifuge utilize continuous filtration for the separation of suspended, fast draining, crystalline, granular or fibrous solids from the liquid phase.
The solids can be washed as they are transported through the basket. These centrifuges are used in all fields for the separation of slurries with solids which filter easily. The average particle size of the solids must be at least 0.1 mm.
